Rod Chalker Appointed National Sales & Product Manager for Dore Electrics & Switches Plus Components

Rod Chalker, National Sales and Product Manager.

 

Dore Electrics and Switches Plus Components are glad to welcome Rod Chalker to the team as National Sales and Product Manager across both businesses.

Rod started in September, working alongside General Manager Ross Porter.

In his new role, Rod will lead national sales and product strategy across Dore Electrics and Switches Plus Components. That includes guiding the sales team, managing the product range, and heading up the introduction of new suppliers and brands, working closely with the division's procurement and sales management teams.

Deep industry experience

Rod has more than 40 years in the electrical industry. He began by completing his electrical trade certificate and worked as a licensed electrical contractor before moving into automation and motor control, working with PLCs.

From there he moved into electrical wholesale, managing an industrial automation branch before becoming a director and shareholder of an electrical wholesaler.

He has since led sales teams at state and national level, most recently as a national product manager for automation, building long-standing relationships with suppliers and customers along the way.

What this means for customers

"Creating this role is a clear statement about where we're taking Dore Electrics, Switches Plus Components and the wider electrical group," said Ross Porter, General Manager of the Electrical Division. "Rod brings real depth in automation and a great reputation with customers and suppliers alike. He'll play a key part in growing our range and making sure our customers get the right products and the right support."

"I started out on the tools, and I've always believed in doing it right the first time," said Rod. "An extra ten minutes up front can save hours in the end. That's the approach I'm bringing to how we support our customers."
